BSA 206 Week 3

This week we covered Motion graphics.

We went over the evolution of motion graphics from rotoscoping. Which is the animation technique that animators use to trace over motion picture footage, frame by frame, to produce realistic action.

Motion graphics is the where actors movements are recorded and the motion applied to animated characters. This technique allows us to transfer more fluid and natural movement into a digital animation format.

The Following video is the creation of Gollum. In my opinion The motion capture of Gollum set the standard for modern motion graphics and Weta studio's who were behind Gollum have carried on leading the industry standard for motion graphics in film.

Film is not the only industry to use motion graphics. The Games industry  has also used this technology as it allows them to achieve the level of detail consumers have come to expect form any form of digital production.
